About the role
Lifecycle marketing is essential to driving customer success at Shiftbase. From onboarding and activation to retention and reactivation, this role ensures that users quickly and seamlessly experience the full value of our platform. You will work closely with the product activation team to design and implement integrated in-app and out-of-app touchpoints, creating a cohesive and impactful customer journey.
What success looks like
In this role, success means boosting product adoption, driving user activation, and improving retention through strategic lifecycle marketing, automated campaigns, and seamless growth loops.
You will design and execute programs that:
- Guide customers to their ‘aha’ moment and first value experience, ensuring sustained engagement.
- Utilize automation and segmentation to deliver the right messages to the right users at the right time.
- Reduce churn and enhance retention through personalized experiences that drive customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty.

What you’ll do
Lifecycle & automation
- Develop and execute lifecycle marketing programs to engage users across the onboarding, activation, retention, and reactivation stages.
- Leverage Customer.io to automate and personalize lifecycle journeys.
- Design scalable engagement frameworks aligned with Shiftbase’s pricing and packaging strategy.
Growth & activation
- Collaborate with the product activation team to remove barriers to early success and increase product adoption.
- Build and optimize growth loops that enhance user engagement and retention.
- Run a/b tests and experiments to refine key touchpoints along the customer journey.
Analytics & insights
- Work with product, data & analytics teams to develop dashboards that track key performance metrics and highlight areas for optimization.
- Use customer data and insights to design high-impact campaigns and measure their effectiveness.
Content & campaigns
- Craft compelling lifecycle messages in native Dutch and near-native English.
- Develop engaging email campaigns, landing pages, and in-app messages that resonate with users.
- Implement segmentation strategies to ensure tailored messaging for different customer groups.
What we’re looking for
Required skills & experience
- Native Dutch speaker (essential) - strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch, with near-native English fluency.
- Marketing automation expertise - Hands-on experience with Customer.io or similar platforms.
- 5+ years of relevant experience - in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM marketing, or a related field—preferably within a subscription-based SaaS or e-commerce environment.
- Data-driven decision maker - ability to analyze performance metrics, run experiments, and optimize campaigns effectively.
- Strategic & executional balance - capable of both designing high-level strategies and executing them hands-on.
- Cross-functional collaboration - experience working closely with product, sales, and customer success teams to shape both in-app and external customer experiences.
Preferred skills
- Knowledge of growth loops, onboarding strategies, and segmentation frameworks.
- Experience aligning marketing initiatives with pricing and packaging strategies.
- Passion for automation and programmatic campaign design.

- Senior level: €6.000 - €7.500 per month (including 8% holiday allowance).
